Serving special needs individuals with developmental and intellectual abilities.
Modern Guidance Services, Inc. is a minority owned and operated not for profit agency. It was established in 1995 to serve consumers with developmental and intellectual abilities in New York City. We are adherent of the Person Centered Approach, which encourages independence, individualization, integration, and productivity within the community for each consumer. By using this approach we are able to maximize individual potential by meeting individual aspirations and needs.
All members of society with or without disabilities are entitled to the same opportunities, dignity, and respect. Our sense of moral obligation mandates that we help people with developmental and intellectual abilities become self-reliant and productive members of the community. The consumer we propose to serve deserves nothing less than genuine caring and excellent service. We want not only to develop programs that serve the underserved, and hard to serve communities, but also to increase public awareness of their needs.
CoVID-19 is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. The virus that causes COVID-19 was first identified during an investigation into an outbreak in Wuhan, China.
The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person. The virus spreads by droplets made when people with the coronavirus cough, sneeze of talk. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people nearby or be inhaled into their lungs.
Keep Things Clean
Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds. This will help with protecting you from germs. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
You should wash your hands:
Avoid close contact with people who are sick. If you are sick, keep your distance from others.
Sneeze into your elbow or a tissue and then throw the tissue away and wash your hands.
Avoid Touching your Eyes, Nose or Mouth
Germs are often spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth.
Stay home from work and avoid running errands when you are sick to prevent spreading your illness to others.
Clean Your Workstation
Clean all frequently touched surfaces in your workplace, such as keyboards, remote controls, desks, countertops, doorknobs, and microwave buttons with disinfectant.
Wear a mask at all times.
